Event Description

Join us as Jamie Patton, the NRCS State Soil Health Coordinator, kicks off the event with a lively and inspiring overview of soil health.

Four key soil health topics will be addressed in a dynamic series of brief presentations on each subject:

  • Integrating Manure
    • Farmer speakers include: Ron Schoepp of Lodi, and Ben Grove of Columbus

      • accessing manure products
      • manure crediting 101
  • Cover Crops
    • Farmer speakers include: Tom Ripp of Black Earth, and Luke Laufenberg of Waunakee

  • Reducing Tillage
    • Farmer speaker: Jeff Endres, Waunakee
      • strip tillage
      • nutrient stratification - does it matter?
  • Compaction
    • Earth Optics Equipment - Insight FS
    • controlled traffic to avoid compaction
    • Central Tire Inflation Systems (CTIS)
    • addressing compaction in the field
