FREE Stargazing Workshop

Event Description
We'll start at 6 PM with an engaging indoor session inside the Center for Rural History. You'll learn the basics of stargazing, types of observing gear, and see stunning astronomical photographs. Then we’ll head outside to explore the night sky through a variety of telescopes. We hope to see Saturn and Jupiter with their moons, dazzling star clusters, double stars, and perhaps even a galaxy or two! A dedicated naked-eye and binocular observation station will be led by a night sky expert, and a special camera/computer setup will project breathtaking views of celestial objects in vivid detail. The event will wrap up after Moonrise (yes, About the Madison Astronomical Society: MAS consists of people from many walks of life who are united by a genuine interest in astronomy. Our members are amateurs with skill levels ranging from novice to very experienced. MAS is a non-profit organization promoting observational astronomy and discussions of astronomical topics. Their aim is to bring the wonders of the universe to the public.
