DANE COUNTY, Wis. — On Thursday, June 26, 2025, Colin Barushok was officially sworn in as the new District 1 Supervisor on the Dane County Board of Supervisors, following his victory in the June 17, 2025, special election. The swearing-in ceremony, led by Dane County Clerk Scott McDonell took place during a regularly scheduled meeting of the County Board.
County Board Chair Patrick Miles welcomed Barushok to the board. “I look forward to Colin bringing his community experience to the County Board,” said Miles. “The Board and District 1 constituents will benefit from his fresh perspective.”
Barushok succeeds former District 1 Supervisor Elizabeth Doyle, who resigned in March after announcing her move outside the district. Barushok, a legislative staffer in the Wisconsin State Legislature, won the race with 51.5% of the vote. The election drew 1,079 voters, or roughly 9% of the district’s registered voters.
Following his swearing-in, Barushok was appointed to the County Board’s Environment, Agriculture & Natural Resources Committee and Land Conservation Committee. “I’m honored that my neighbors have given me the opportunity to represent and serve our downtown community. I’m committed to meeting their needs by uplifting their values and collaborating closely with my colleagues,” said Barushok. “I’m ready to get to work to protect and improve our County.”
